Youth Cooking/Art Camp

​The Juanita A. Portlock Memorial Scholarship Fund (Fund) in collaboration with Juanita's Red Room presents a complimentary Youth Cooking/Art for young people ages 10-13. A non-refundable supply fee of $100 per student is due upon registration to confirm your student's registration.
(Priority will be given to youth living in the County of Los Angeles, Second Supervisory District). The Fund was established as a 501c3 non-profit in 2017 to honor the memory of Mrs. Juanita A. Portlock who loved what we now call the "expanded definition of fine arts"

...cosmetology/barbering, culinary arts, event planning, fashion design, hospitality management and interior design. The Camp will be held at the Biddy Mason Wellness Community Center located at 2249 S. Hobart Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90018 from Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 2, 2026 9:30am -2:30pm and will include our beloved Camp Chef, Charlene Hamilton, cooking Jollof Rice with a Nigerian Chef, baking lessons, floral arrangement sessions, dining etiquette, crafting, special guest presenters and more.
Parents/guardians will be invited to attend the last session to celebrate the graduation of the students. In anticipation of all our participants having a great time, we ask that participating students arrive on time, with a positive attitude, ready to have fun, and meet new friends.
